“Cold World:” the Product of a Brilliant Artistic Fusion Between Yuki Dreams Again and Zach Zoya

“Cold World:” the product of a brilliant artistic fusion.

“Nobody knows how to mind their own

Nobody knows how to stay at home

Nobody knows how to mind their own

Nobody knows how to stay at home”

On March 10, Samuel Bocan Biddle professionally known as Yuki Dreams Again and Montreal-based artist Zach Zoya came out with a hit single called “Cold World.” And I’ve got to tell you, it has been a while since a song has been on repeat so often in my apartment. Catchy R’n’B rhythms coupled with tuneful lyrics, this duo gave their audience a song perfectly showcasing their talents.

Yuki Dreams Again is known for his talent in song-writing and producing, as he rose to fame with his debut single “Endlessly” in 2020. His aptitude for music comes as no surprise, once you discover that his grandfather was Philadelphia Jazz Legend Charles Biddle. Fun fact, Charles Biddle lived most of his life in Montreal playing in many jazz venues.

Montreal-based rapper Zach Zoya has been making his mark in the rap and hip-hop scene ever since his first single “Superficial,” which came out in 2017. Silver-tongued, multi-talented, Zoya has been considered one of the most sought-out artists in all of Quebec. And his fame keeps on growing.

“I joined my collaborators SORAN and Zach Zoya in a frenzy recording session where we wrote and recorded in such a fast and fluid way,” Yuki Dreams Again tells Complex UK. “It was automatic and took just one day to make. The track was later mixed by Joe Visciano and is about minding your own business but mostly letting loose and ditching the ‘overthinking monster’ inside.”

“Baby, it's a cold world, baby, it's a mad world

Everybody hopes they just end up with the right girl

Baby, it's a cold world, baby, it's a mad world

Everybody hopes they just end up with the right girl”

The song is a groovy, fun dance-inducing track, the music further insisting on the concept of just letting yourself go, living your life free of judgement you make of yourself and others, and just being free. That in spite of how cold the world is, you must find yourself able to let go and live a life where you can try to be free from all of it.
