Giveon’s BELOVED vinyl is almost too beautiful to be played
Giveon’s BELOVED gets a physical release that gives as much attention to the object as the music itself.
Designed by PAMU Studio, the vinyl packaging centers around an engraved hardwood disc featuring the album’s tracklist across its surface. Rather than keeping this information to the sleeve or liner notes, the typography becomes part of the record’s visual identity.
At its center, disc labels designed to resemble reel-to-reel tape continue the analog references, creating an object that feels somewhere between a record, a piece of audio equipment and something made to be displayed.
It’s a fitting treatment for an album rooted in warmth and nostalgia, and one that makes putting the needle down feel almost wrong.
BELOVED by Giveon is out now.
